Where Are The World’s Most Romantic Cities To Visit?

 

You’ve got a long weekend booked off with your loved one and you’ve decided to leave your home comforts for a few nights and take a trip, so where are the world’s most romantic cities to visit? Where can you indulge in gorgeous meals out, beautiful drinking locations, romantic walks and stunning hotels?

 

Search no further because we’ve tried and tested many romantic locations and will share our favourites with you right now.

 

Marrakech, Morocco

Situated in Northern Africa, Marrakech is a delightful city to explore. With a magical, festival-like atmosphere there are markets, quirky streets, shops and hotels to discover.

 

Head for the Jardin Majorelle, a slice of tranquility and a very romantic spot, right in the heart of the city.

 

Explore the ruins of Badi Palace or check into a spa and enjoy some R&R. Remember though that women and men bathe seperately in Morroco in general so be sure to check into a Spa that is aimed at couples and that lets you bathe together.

 

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Beautiful Buenos Aires is the capital city of Argentina in South America. It may surprise you to see it in our most romantic cities in the world, but this place needs to be seen to be believed.

 

Sign up for a guided tour run by a local in order to get a real feel for this vibrant city. With an amazing cafe culture you can break up the tour with coffee stops and people spotting.

 

Jump on a bike to cruise the streets and view all of the unbelievable street art all around the city.

 

Parque Centenario is a circular, 10-hectare green space in the centre of Buenos Aires. Designed by landscape architect Carlos it is a beautiful spot to while away a relaxing afternoon after all of that sight-seeing.

 

There are some fabulous restaurants and places to eat in the city too, head for Cenas Pasionarias in trendy Palermo Soho, this is a secret restaurants inside a beautiful antique store. Eat sushi, listen to jazz music and drink wine. Spot on.

 

 

Venice, Italy

Predictably in our list of the most romantic cities in the world, Venice is undeniably gorgeous and really is a super romantic spot.

What could be more lovely than cruising down one of the many canals lined with breathtaking Venitian architecture, then hopping off the gondola, strolling around St Marks Square whilst finding a gorgeous spot for dinner and drinks.

 

One evening you really must head for the Teatro La Fenice, snuggle up together and watch an opera.

 

 

San Diego, California

Set between the Pacific Ocean and the Laguna mountain range, San Diego is as cool as it is chilled out and makes a really great place for a romantic break.

 

Head downtown to have relaxing, sunkissed days on the beach, stroll the harbour or rent a luxury villa high up on the hill top.

 

Visit Uptown if you fancy some cool, hipster bars, loads of craft beers and a vibrant atmosphere.

 

Get out to Point Loma, a rocky peninsula were sea lions can often be found relaxing on the rocks.

 

 

San Sebastian, Spain

San Sebastian is located in the north of the Basque Country on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay, in the Spanish province of Gipuzkoa

This beautiful beach destination will allow for chilled out, sunny, romantic days.

 

If you like young and trendy then head for Gros which has loads of cool bars and cafes for great food and drinks, plus fabulous beaches.

 

Centro is very romantic with gorgeous pedestrian promenades with glamarous people strolling the streets,

 

The old town is absolutely beautiful and a must-see, even if you don’t want to stay here (its definitely the liveliest part of San Sebastian) you must come for a visit.

 

Antiguo is probably our favourite spot for couples with simply stunning beaches to stroll and gorgeous restaurants with great menus and top notch wine.

 

Bath, England

Bath, in Somerset England is known for its Roman-built baths, its beautiful Georgian architecture and its vibrant university-city feel.

 

Bath is one of those cities that you can just stroll around, find gorgeous cafes and restaurants, hidden parks and beautiful buildings at every turn.

 

Visit the Bath Spa for a romantic dip in the rooftop pool and the Roman Baths for a fascinating insight into how the Romans lived and played.

 

Bath Abbey is also gorgeous for a stroll around and a picnic in the grounds.
