Below is just one example, featuring the comparatively unknown province of Fujian, which itself can be adapted to your wishes, adding or subtracting days as required.
For example, walking in the countryside around Guilin would also be possible, and could be combined with Fujian.
Visits to major centres like Shanghai can be excluded if preferred.

Visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven. Evening Peking duck dinner. (BLD)
Visit Beihai Park, and old Hutong area. Transfer to Great Wall (Huangyaguan Pass). Walk in the mountain area for 3 hours, then transfer to Great Wall Jinshanling Pass. Overnight at Jinshanling courtyard Hotel 2* (BLD)
Walk along the Great Wall from Jinshanling pass to Simatai pass, the most magnificent section along the Great Wall. About 4 hours hiking (15 km), then return to Beijing (BLD)
Transfer to airport for flight to Xian, the most important ancient capital throughout many dynasties. Visit Big Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi Museum and walk along Xian City Wall (Xian is the only provincial capital with a complete city wall). Evening hotpot dinner (BLD)

Transfer to airport for flightto Xiamen – The Garden on the sea. Transfer to hotel. Visit downtown area and then from Heping pier, take ferry across Lujiang Strait to Gulangyu Islet and walk among through the buildings in various architectural styles built from the 18th Century by westerners. Return to hotel in Xiamen. (BLD)
Transfer to Nanjing County. On the way visit the ‘Thousand Hectare Sea of Bananas’, then start walk, visiting the most magnificent Tulou (Earth house) groups – Tianluokeng. About 1000 years ago, people migrated from the Yellow River basin to Fujian, then still regarded as poor and remote. They used local material to build tall, multi-storey circular earthen buildings where a whole family or clan could live. They were both spacious and practically impregnable. This year, Tulou was listed by UNESCO. The shape of Tianluokeng Tulou is unique, four round Tulou surrounding one square Tulou, standing among fields and mountains. Walk to Yuchanglou, a huge pagoda, leaning for 680 years, but still in use. Visit Hakka houses and some smaller Tulou, then transfer to hotel in Yongding. Transfer to Hongkeng village and Chuxi Village for visiting more Hakka Earthen Houses. (BLD)
Transfer to Xiamen airport for short flight to Wuyishan Mountain, the most scenic mountain in Southeast China. First climb the Heavenly Tour Peak to have a bird’s view of the area. Descend to visit the tea area. Fujian Province is famous for it’s special teas, Oolong Tea in particular. Visit tea gardens, Tiger Rock, Tiancheng Temple and enjoy tea in local tea house. 5 hours walking. (BLD)
Morning 3 hour walk to Shuiliandong Cave, White Cloud Peak. Walk through mountains and villages. Afternoon take bamboo raft to cruise ‘Nine Bend Streams’. (BLD)
Transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai. the most modern and prosperous city in China. Visit Jade Buddha Temple, Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Road, Bund. (BLD)
Visit Yu Garden, China Town, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Puxi (old Shanghai) and Pudong (modern area) (BLD)
