ITINERARY
Day 1. Lumbarda and Korcula Island.
After meeting at Dubrovnik airport with our guide/driver we will transfer you along the Peljesac peninsula to the port of Orebic. Ferry to Korcula, meet our agent in Korcula, who will transfer you to Lumbarda, your base for the next 2 days. If you have enough time you can take a short walk following the path above the village to enjoy the countryside filled with olive groves and vineyards, and spectacular views over the sea. Or perhaps just go for a swim in the clear Adriatic Sea.
Day 2. Korcula.
Walk from Lumbarda along the coast, and then across country through olive groves to Korcula town…upon arrival in Korcula, explore the town (narrow streets of the Old Town, Cathedral and museum, birth place of Marco Polo) before returning to Lumbarda.
Day 3. Lumbarda - DubrovnikThis is departure day from Korcula. Continue to Dubrovnik (two nights) by ferry or vehicle (ferry ticket and transfer included). In the afternoon, meet a local representative for an introduction to the city. Accommodation in private pension.
Day 4. Dubrovnik, Island of Sipan
Today you may go to the island of Sipan, where we suggest that you walk from the port of Sudjuradj among the vineyards and olive trees to the western part of the island and the port of Luka. Return by boat to Dubrovnik.
Day 5. To Mljet
Today you visit the delightful island of Mljet, famous for its two salt lakes and magnificent scenery. After breakfast take the ferry to Mljet (journey time about 2 hours). Transfer to your accommodation in Polace. If time, take an introductory walk through fragrant pinewoods, with wonderful views to the outlying islands. Overnight Polace.
Day 6. Mljet
The chance to explore much more of this green island. Walk from Polace (with its ruined Roman Palace) over a ridge and down to the salt lakes. If there is good weather you can enjoy swimming in the salt lakes (the temperature there is always a couple of degrees higher then in the open sea), or you can visit St. Mary island and its 12th century Benedictine monastery. Then continue walking on the shores of the lakes, or you might like to cycle to the other side of the island and the village of Pomena. Overnight Polace.
Day 7. Return to Dubrovnik, transfer to Cavtat
During the day take a ferry back to Dubrovnik, where you will be met and transferred to Cavtat, where you can explore the old town, or, if time, do some fine walking in the neighbouring countryside. Overnight Cavtat.
Day 8.
