The Austrian Lakes

The landscape of the lakes in the Austrian Salzkammergut is one of the most beautiful in the country and indeed in the world (as recognised by the UNESCO status of the region of Hallstatt). Some special gems that can be reached only on foot – a treat on this self-guided walking tour. Agreeable walking distances of 3 to 4 hours per day.

DIFFICULTY OF WALK

The trails are very good with each day ascents of some 30 to 40 minutes. This tour is very pleasant because you are always close to charming little towns that are within 20 minutes walk of pure nature. Walk mainly on walking trails and sometimes on forest trails. There is only one little spot in a gorge where there is a very small trail secured with ropes but this does not present a real difficulty (an alternative trail also available and in our personal welcome this is all made clear). Lunch packages provided by hotels (included). On this tour you can shorten the trails by using the ferry or local buses and if on any day you prefer not to walk you can move to the next hotel by bus or train.

GROUP SIZE

This self-guided walking holiday can be operated for 2 or more people.
