A SINGLE-CENTRE SELF-GUIDED WALKING HOLIDAY

This holiday is ideal for people keen to walk independently, who like to enjoy the real Spain, but do not want the chore of repacking and moving on each day. Our flexible pricing enables you to choose dates which are convenient to you so that for example you could have a long week-end from Thursday to Monday, making use of cheap Easyjet prices. In order to assist you to complete the walks you are provided with guide sheets together with explanatory notes, and personal itinerary so that you can follow well defined paths. You will also have the backup of experienced local representatives. You will be based in Torrox Pueblo, an historic Moorish village just four kilometres from the coast and stay in traditional village houses, which have been both sympathetically restored and furnished with all modern conveniences. The townspeople boast that they enjoy the best climate in Europe, and they could be right! Good local food and wine at friendly restaurants is assured and for those who would like to intersperse walking with other activities excursions for example to Granada or to Malaga can be arranged for a small extra cost.

  • Full walk information pack (one per party) to include walk descriptions, compass, maps, map-holder and guidebooks (where appropriate). Guided introduction by your hosts to the village
  • The use of a Spanish mobile phone to enable you to keep in contact in case of emergencies
  • Transfer to/from the start/finish of each day’s walk.

Day 1: Arrive/ settle in with a stroll around local village

Day 2:  A walk of about 4 hours – a gentle introduction

Day 3: A walk of about 5 hours – a little steeper

Day 4: Free day or optional visit (payable locally)

Day 5: A walk of about 5 hours/maybe also a harder option if required

Day 6: A big walk (maybe a summit or a similarly challenging walk) or some non walking options (but activity oriented)

Day 7: End of holiday

    GETTING THERE

    The nearest airport is Malaga from where you will be taken to your accommodation.

    WHAT TO TAKE:

    Sturdy walking boots and walking socks (with a change of socks in rucksack), rucksack/day pack,binoculars, swimming costume, water bottle, insect repellent, sun glasses, sun hat, sun block/cream, compass, torch and a first-aid kit.

    INSURANCE

    We recommend that you take out appropriate holiday insurance covering you against illness, injury, and loss or damage to luggage. This insurance should also cover the possibility of your having to cancel your holiday for whatever reason.
